Blažek, Michal ; Jelen, Karel (advisor) ; Šorfová, Monika (referee)
Title: Evaluation of functional biomechanical locomotion parameters depending on the performed amputation in LL Objectives: The goals of this thesis are the following: to compare asymmetry in step cycle time, pelvis, hip and knee movement and lower limb loading while walking, also to compare sagittal movement of pelvis while walking, postural stability in stance and subjective scoring of the functional skills and the quality of life in healthy controls, transfemoral and knee disarticulation amputees. Methods: 6 healthy controls and 3 amputees in each amputation group were included in this experiment. Qualisys motion capture system and Kistler force plates to collect objective data and specific sections of Prosthesis Evaluation Questionnaire for subjective scoring were used. The participants were observed while level walking forward and backward with self-selected speed and in a quiet stance with eyes either open or closed with narrow support base. Statistical analysis was carried out in Microsoft Excel. Results: In terms of asymmetry assessment of the selected ambulation parameters there were identified more symmetrical values in the knee disarticulation group in 63 % of 33 monitored parameters. However, statistical significance was exceeded only in a single parameter. Concerning pelvic movement in...

BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Author: Pavla Konvalinková Supervisor: Ing. Adéla Slámová Tutor: Hana Kohoutová, DiS Title: Transfemoral amputation and knee joint disarticulation Subtitle: Rehabilitation procedure after lower limb amputation Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of transfemoral amputations and exarticulations in the knee joint and the possibilities of rehabilitation care for patients after amputation of the lower limb. The work will offer both an earlier and a current view of the issue from the position of a doctor, prosthetist and physiotherapist. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the introductory theoretical part, circulatory techniques are described in detail in terms of indications, design, history, advantages and disadvantages and possibilities of prosthetic equipment. Further work summarizes the knowledge about the possibilities of physiotherapeutic intervention from preoperative and postoperative care to equipping the patient with a prosthetic device. In the second practical part, two case reports of patients with selected two procedures are processed. The aim of the work is to bring the known knowledge on the issue of transfemoral amputations and exarticulations in the knee joint and then apply this knowledge and selected procedures in clinical...
The Effect of Adapted Exercise Programs on Musculoskeletal System of Lower Limb Amputees
Sobotková, Ivona ; Hošková, Blanka (advisor) ; Pyšný, Ladislav (referee) ; Kálal, Jan (referee)
The subject of this dissertation was the creation of the adapted exercise program for unilateral transfemoral amputees and its verification in practice. The content of this program was chosen based on the practical experience and theoretical background in the field of anatomy, kinesiology, rehabilitation, lower- limb amputations and Motion Capture technologies. The four-month intervention program was designed as an adapted corrective exercise aimed at the major muscle groups influencing the posture, especially the position of the pelvic segment, which is the dominant element in the kinematic chain. The aim of this project was to ascertain whether this intervention can affect the pelvic tilt (in frontal and sagittal plane) of unilateral transfemoral amputees and so improve their quality of life. This was a project based on combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods. The measurement of the size of angles determining the pelvic tilt by Qualisys optoelectronic system was the essence of the quantitative part of the research. Qualitative data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews from persons who completed whole project. This research is by its nature and focus characterized as a set of case reports and as a pilot study, proof of concept respectively. 10 unilateral...
